    CLINICAL DIRECTOR

    Simon has worked at the Cat and Rabbit Clinic since it was first established in Duston in June 2000. He has a keen interest in soft tissue surgery and dentistry and is committed to improving the standard of veterinary care for rabbits, guinea pigs and small furries in first opinion practice.  He enjoys kayaking, travelling and fell walking, especially in the Lake District. He currently has two loveable, mischievous cats called Scout and Bear.

    Kim was born in Africa, trained in Australia and has worked at the Cat and Rabbit Clinic since its beginning.  She has a special interest in feline behaviour and is passionate about improving the quality of life of domestic cats by helping owners to appreciate their very specific feline needs.  She has two adorable young cats, Bear and Scout. Kim’s happy place is on a fell side path in the Lake District or kayaking along the Nene, watching for wildlife.

    Sophie graduated from Nottingham Vet School in 2023 and throughout her time at university developed a keen interest in treating exotics and wildlife. She is excited to continue to develop her knowledge and skills in all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery. When Sophie is not working she enjoys spending time with her rabbits, going for runs in the countryside or baking cakes for friends and family.

    Shawni is a registered veterinary nurse at the Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic, and also has a qualification in small mammal care. Her favourite part of the job is working with all of the small furries who came into the practice. At home she has two dogs of her own, and enjoys sunshine, reading, video games and films.

    Gemma has been nursing since 2010. She trained at a local referral practice and soon went on to study cat behaviour with ISFM. A lover of cats, Gemma has two cats, Arthur and Rupert. She enjoys going to the gym in her spare time and spending time with friends and family.

    Nicola has been veterinary nursing since 2008 and is passionate about making visits to the vets as stress free and comfortable as possible for her patients. Out of work Nicola shares her house with her gorgeous cat and spends her time looking after her two cheeky horses.  She loves going to see live shows as often as she can.

    Debbie is a receptionist at the Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic, and has been since 2005, answering phones, chatting with clients, playing with patients and making teas and coffees to keep the busy vets going.  When not at work she enjoys going for walks with dog, Ruby.

    RECEPTIONIST

    Kelly has worked for the Cat and Rabbit Care Clinic since February 2015 and has been a client for much longer. Her cat Prince has been a regular at the practice since she adopted him in December 2020. Kelly works on Saturday mornings and absolutely loves meeting new and old clients alike. When people ask why she works here as a second job she points out that “work” is playing with cats and rabbits!

    APPRENTICE VETERINARY CARE SUPPORT

    Sophie is a kennel assistant at the cat and rabbit care clinic, she has achieved a level 3 diploma in animal management and is now looking forward to getting to know all the animals and their owners. She has a big passion for animals both in and out of work and enjoys spending time looking after her two rabbits Honey and Shelby, her tortoise Aishu and Teddy her dog. She also enjoys creative hobbies including drawing, sewing and fashion.

    ANIMAL CARE ASSISTANT

    Maria has worked retail management and childcare for over 20 years, but her most recent job was working as a receptionist in the veterinary industry. This spurred on her love for animals and wanting to start her journey into animal care and welfare. She has 2 cats Rosie & Pepper and a new kitten (Florence) who will be joining the family early May 2022. She is very passionate about the care and welfare of all animals and very much looks forward to gaining more experience and knowledge in her new role as Animal Care Assistant from April 2022.  In her spare time, she likes to work out & spend time with her family.
